In the 1951 television series "The Amos 'n Andy Show", she played Harriet Harrington and Mrs Wentworth; Austin also had roles in the TV series "Schlitz Playhouse" (1953), "The Revlon Mirror Theater" (1953), "The Pride of the Family" (1954) and "You Are There" (1955). She died from cachexia at age 56.
