Mattie Bradshaw Watson, 92, of Lenoir, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, November 5, 2011 at Lenoir Health Care, Lenoir N.C. She was born July 17, 1919 in Catawba County, North Carolina to the late John Avery Bradshaw and Bertha Holloway Bradshaw. She was a member of West Lenoir Baptist Church in Lenoir, North Carolina. She and her late husband Robert A. Watson owned and operated Watson Grocery off Abington road in Lenoir for over twenty years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Watson five brothers and two sisters Garnie Mae Bradshaw Sipes and Fannie Bradshaw Lyerly and
a niece Coleen Fox. She is survived by Gerald Sipes a nephew and wife Beverly of Lenoir, N.C. Michael Sipes a great nephew and wife Kym of Lenoir, N.C. Bob Lyerly a nephew of Piedmont, S.C. Mike Lyerly a nephew of Statesville, N.C. Garnette Lyerly Kluttz a niece of Cleveland, N.C. and many other many others nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, N.C. with the Rev. James Lockee and Rev. Rick Safriet officiating. Mackie Funeral Home serving the family.
