The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church on W. Friendly Ave., in the chapel. The family will receive friends in the chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Coltrane was born February 4, 1902, to William Richard and Susan Arista Coffield Smith in Martin County. In 1925, she married Clyde Alfred Jackson, who preceded her in death in 1954, and in 1965, she married Lee Beacher Coltrane, who also preceded her in death in 1974.
A member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Coltrane was also active in the Rachel Caldwell Chapter of the D.A.R., Guilford Chapter 301 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the Out Our Way Garden Club and the Fidelis Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa. She taught at Lindley Elementary School for 22 years, retiring in 1965.
Surviving are her sons, Rodney Dean Jackson and wife, Betty of Winston-Salem, and Clyde Alfred Jackson Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Mebane; grandchildren, Rebecca Deane Van Der Sommen and husband, Michiel of Greensboro, Nancy Murphy and husband, Jack of Alpharetta, Ga., Pattie Lee Porter and husband, Keith of Burlington, James Dean Jackson and wife, Teresa, John Talbert Jackson and wife, Mae of Winston-Salem, Jeffrey Lee Jackson and wife, Tina of Dallas, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; stepsons, G. Solomon Coltrane and wife, Becky, and J. Max Coltrane and wife, Mozelle, all of Kernersville, William L. Coltrane, Vernon E. Coltrane and wife, Trudy, Lois E. Coltrane, Jesse L. Coltrane and wife, Margaret, all of Greensboro; stepdaughters, Edna C. Wakefield of Elkton, Mich., and Lala C. Thacker and husband, J.W., who preceded her in death; sisters, Mittie S. (Mrs. June A.) Crumpler of Burlington, Lena Mae (Mrs. Wallace) Caveness, and Margaret (Mrs. R.V.) Morris, all of Greensboro. The entire Coltrane family was very precious to her.
