GRAFF: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice
St. Tammany News (Covington, LA) - Thursday, April 29, 2010
Deceased Name: GRAFF
Rosalie Madeline Loup Graff, born in New Orleans July 15, 1921, and a resident of Lacombe for the past 30 years, departed this world Sunday, April 18, 2010, surrounded by that which she treasured most, her loving family.
Her husband and soul mate of nearly 70 years, Adam Jr., was with her along with their children.
Rosalie was a truly unique and giving person who never met a stranger and lit up every room with her infectious smile and her bright eyes. She was dedicated to the Virgin Mary to whom she said the Rosary every night. She loved gardening and being surrounded by her flowers and her hummingbirds. She was the sunshine of her family's life. Her departure from this world is a devastating loss from which we will struggle to recover.
Rosalie was active with the bingos held by the Slidell Knights of Columbus Council 2732. She was variously involved with the Bayou Liberty Community Organization, the Happy Hour Senior Citizen's Club, the Elks Lodge 2321 and the Lacombe Senior Citizens Club. Volunteering with these organizations, she and Adam visited senior citizen's homes, planted gardens for them, visited local nursing homes and played music for them and also dressed as clowns and marched in various parades. She enjoyed doing for those that couldn't do for themselves and was a very giving and generous person. This world is truly a sadder place without her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Zepherin Joseph Loup and Mary Lena Reeves; brother and sisters Paul, Gloria Montalbano, and Margaret Oswald; half brothers Clarence and Andrew Loup and half sisters Bertha Stein and Stella Zerangue.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow with Mass at 1 p.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell. The Mass will be immediately followed by a remembrance celebration until 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at1578 West Hall St. Slidell. Donations to your favorite charity in Rosalie Graff's name are requested in lieu of flowers. She would have liked that.
