Polly Carter was born September 4, 1926 in Pryor to Eligh and Dora Gladys (Delay) Stamper. She departed this life on March 29, 2014 in Vinita at the age of 87 years 6 months and 25 days.

Polly grew up in Pryor and graduated from Pryor High School. After graduation Polly moved to California. She moved back to Oklahoma in 1970 from Arvin, California. Polly was married to Luther Carter on March 17, 1944 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Luther preceded her in death. Polly retired from Craig General Hospital after 20 years of employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member or the Adair United Methodist Church. Polly enjoyed reading, doing cross word puzzles, sewing and crocheting. But most important to her was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandkids.

In addition to her husband, Polly was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter June Carter, one brother Howard Stamper, one grandson Gregg Powers, one great grandson Cody Simmons, one great granddaughter Justina Kouplen. (Stephens)
