Musician. Born Vienna, Austria, he was a jazz clarinetist dubbed ‘Fatty George' for the double servings of apple strudel and goulash he used to consume on breaks during shows. He first gained popularity playing bebop swing for American and Russian soldiers at end of the Second World War. With his Fatty George Jazzband, he performed throughout the European continent at both clubs and festivals in the 1950s. He personally ran nightclubs in Germany, Austria and opened Fatty's Jazz Casino in Insbruck. He also released a series of albums such as "The Complete Fatty George", "Fatty's Saloon 1958" and "Two Sides of Fatty George".
