Minnie Jensen was born in Cottonwood, Utah on 23 August 1863 to Jens Jensen and Anna Maria Nielsen, who were Mormon pioneers from Norway. Minnie married Hyrum Lorenzo Giles on 8 June 1883 at the age of 19. He was 33. They lived in Silver Precinct, Salt Lake County. Minnie and Hyrum had ten children together. Minnie and Hyrum had a log cabin by the creek in Big Cottonwood Canyon. They also resided in Salt Lake City at 59 West 500 South for many years. Minnie continued to live there after Hyrum died in 1924. Minnie died on 10 April 1937, at age 73. She was buried next to her husband at the Murray City Cemetery, Salt Lake County, Utah.
