Norma Udy Cannon, 88, passed away May 29, 2005. Norma was born March 2, 1917 in Riverside, Utah, to Ella and Horace Udy.

Her parents owned Udy Hot Springs where Norma learned her swimming skills. She graduated from Bear River High School where she was a State Champion in swimming competition. The Springs were a popular recreational area for the Bear River Valley and this is how she met Rulon Cannon, her future husband. Norma's love of swimming continued all her life. She went swimming once a week at the facility pool, where she was a resident, until two weeks before her death.

Norma's life was one of unselfish devotion to her family and her church. She served in many callings and enjoyed her calling in the Stake Relief Society and being a Bryan Ward Primary President. She was a kind and loving mother, who was always concerned about others and was always willing to be of help.

Norma was preceded in death by her loving eternal husband Rulon F. Cannon, and a brother Ralph Udy.

She is survived by three children, Nyle (Gayle) Cannon, Layton; Lynn (Ramona) Cannon, Kaysville; Katharyn (Reuel) McPhie, Salt Lake City, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children, and a sister Afton Moss, Salt Lake City.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mt. Care in Bountiful, Utah for their loving care of our mother for the past 2 1/2 years. We could not have asked for better care than what the staff provided.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Bryan Ward, corner of 11th East and 17th South. Family and friends may call at the Ward one hour before the service.

Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Cemetery, 1960 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Funeral Directors: Colonial Mortuary.
