OBITUARY FROM TUCKER FUNERAL HOME

CENTRAL CITY - David Eugene Jernigan, Sr., 56, of Central City, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 2:16PM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Jernigan was born July 29, 1957 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner and member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, William Jernigan; brothers Roy Lee Jernigan and Timothy Jernigan; grandparents Roy and Grace Jernigan; and nephew Matthew Jernigan.

Survivors include his sons, David (Shannon) Jernigan, Jr. of Central City, Timothy (Amber) Jernigan of South Carrollton, and Roy Jernigan of Central City; ten grandchildren; mother Bertha Devon Jernigan of Central City; brother Terry (Leslie) Jernigan of Central City; and sisters Debra (Lewos) Montis of Chicago, DeVonia (Shelby) Jernigan of Beech Creek, and Theresia Jernigan of Cleaton.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial in Allens Chapel Cemetery in Browder. Visitation will be Saturday after 5:00PM at the funeral home.
