Sam was the only child of Otis Cary McKee and Violet Rose May.
He was a US Army veteran and graduate of East Tennessee State University. He was a bookkeeper and accountant for Elizabethton Herb and Metal and Johnson City Iron and Metal for over 25 years.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Mckee of the home, a sister-in-law, Jolene Walters, and mother-In-law, Janette Walters, both of Jonesborough, three nieces, Susanne Willoughby and husband Tom, of Knoxville, Patti Walters, Tiffany Hodge, both of Jonesborough, one nephew Frank Walters and wife Kim, Jonesborough, and several cousins.
