William C. "Bill" Winstead 88, of Dixon, KY passed away Thursday March 27, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN. He was the owner/operator of Dixon Hardware in Dixon, KY. He was a member of the Dixon First Baptist Church in Dixon, KY, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Dixon Lions Club, Dixon Masonic Lodge #911, 33rd degree Mason, member of Scottish Rite, York Rite and a Shriner. He was a Ky. Colonel and had helped many years with the Dixon Freedom Days. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Ruth Winstead of Dixon, KY; one daughter Debra W. Horschel and her husband Larry of Smyrna, TN; 2 grandchildren Michelle Tanksley and Travis Horschel; three great grand Casey, Hannah and Eli. Services will be held on Sunday at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Hank Cayce and Rev.Jared Leet will officiate. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday and from 8am until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 6pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
