He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era who served aboard the USS Guam as a guard and later, as an admiral's assistant when he was stationed in Norfolk, VA in June, 1969. He received a National Defense Service Medal for his service.
Mr. Pedersen was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, based in Morris Plains and a longtime member of the American Legion Post in Denville.
