Peggy Ellen Hill

Peggy Ellen Hill, age 81, of Salisbury and formerly of Raleigh, Locust, and Stanfield, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23.
Ms. Hill was born September 20, 1932 in Mt. Sterling the daughter of the late Georgia Lou Roberts Hill and Arthur Hill. She was retired from Liggett Myers Corporation. She attended Pfeiffer College. Peggy was the family historian and genealogist. She was a keeper of family tradition, and was talented in sewing. She loved to read, especially books on history. She liked to collect pottery, pewter and quilts. She also enjoyed writing letters to her friends and family far away. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Anne Leopard, Shirley Jean Herrin, and sister-in-law Anna Frances Hill.
She is survived by her friends, Anthony and Paulette Mangham and Marianne and Larry Summey of Salisbury, NC; brother, Charles E. Hill of Asheville, NC; sister, Virginia Sue Heffelfinger of Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by her cousin, David Capps of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces, Terry Heffelfinger and family of Hummelstown, PA; Beth Leopard Tallent; and family of Midland, NC.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Summersett Funeral Home, 1315 W. Innes St., Salisbury, NC conducted by Rev. Larry Summey. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
