Russell "Bubba" Archer Houston, Jr., 60, of Toano, passed away on March 24, 2014. Born in Hopewell, VA he was the son of the late Russell A. Sr. and Betty Frith Houston; and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael A. and Jeffrey A. Houston; one sister, Terri Lynn Houston; and a niece, Michele Griffin. Russell worked over 35 years and retired from the Virginia Dominion Power Plant in Yorktown, VA. He had a love for fast cars, boating, and loved and enjoyed fellowship and fun times with family and many friends. Russell spent time witnessing to others about his Lord and Savior, and encouraged many to give their life to the Lord as he had done many years ago. He is survived by his loving sisters, Katie H. Fenderson and husband, David, Janet H. Griffin, and Sheila H. Fields and husband, Bobby; two nephews, Michael Fields and Austen Spainhour; four nieces, Chelsy Bowe, Donna Fields-DuVall, Jessica Griffin and Kaylee Fenderson; three great-nephews, Joshua Griffin, Samuel and William Bowe; special aunt, Shirley Lovering; special uncle, Aubrey Houston; his special friend, Regina Dance and many other very close and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
