Mr. Arnold Rogers, 86 of Mt. Vernon, passed from this life on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born in Manchester, KY on February 1, 1936 to Luther and Daisy Buttery Rogers, one of sixteen children. He had been a welder for Diebold Safe Company of Hamilton, OH.
It has been said that Arnold could sell ice cream to an Eskimo. He was an avid mumbly peg and horseshoes player who never met a stranger. Gramma is the only one to make better soup beans. "Come on home, son! Supper's ready!"
He is survived by his children: Dennis, Jeffrey, Kenneth, Don, and Peggy; a sister, Dorothy Halcomb; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and his significant other, Dorothy Cain. Several nieces and nephews, also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Todd Rogers; sons: David and Douglas; a daughter, Virginia; a granddaughter, Amanda; and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services for Mr. Rogers will be conducted Wednesday, October 19 at 1:00 PM in the Hugh Martin Cemetery in Manchester.
