Genial, dependable, with a striking talent for making friends, the death of Amos Hansen came as a shock to his many friends and acquaintances.
Mr. Hansen had been a member of the Salt Lake county fire department for nine years. He has held his position as deputy sheriff since February 15, 1937. Prior to that time he had been an employee of the county department of roads and bridges and Murray City.
He was an active member of the Eagles lodge.
Son of Hans and Josephine Hansen, he was born in Murray, February 20, 1898.
Survivors are, Mrs. Julia Harriet Sorensen Hansen; a son, Dale, and a daughter, Doris Hansen; two brothers, Murray City Commissioner J. Clifford Hansen, and Rupert Hansen, Salt Lake City; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Halling, Rockland, Idaho; Mrs. Loretta Nnouse, Independence,Mo., and Mrs. Nettie Player, Salt Lake City.
Interment was made in Murray City Cemetery.
