Danny was born on September 12, 1950 to Joyce Elkins Manning and Wayne Manning and was a lifelong resident of Spearsville. Danny, a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation after 33 years. He was an active member and deacon of Camp Creek Baptist Church and also served faithfully as the church treasurer for ten years after assuming the position from his daddy. In spite of the cold weather and a total of four weeks spent in the hospital, he had caught 176 white perch in 2014.
