Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and G. Mabel (Gainer) Dunford.
Edith worked as a stitcher for local dress shops, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Woonsocket, and the Creapeau Court Social Club, where she was a kitchen volunteer.
She is survived by three daughters, JoAnn Sugden of Woonsocket, Nancy Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, and Debra Shakan of Glendale; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Robert, Howard and Chester Dunford; and her sister Frances Berry.
