RETIRED WATER WORKMAN DIES
John Henry Walker, 80, retired Salt Lake City water department employee, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday at his home of causes incident to age.
Born at Northfield, Minn., September 7, 1857, a son of Con and Phoebe Jane Merrill Walker, he came to Salt lake City in 1891. Mr. Walker was employed by the city water department for 16 years, retiring in 1932.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah A. Tapp Walker, Salt Lake City; three sons, Max W. Walker, Salt Lake City; Conrad H. Walker, Reno, Nev.; J. Alvin Walker, Los Angeles, Cal.; three daughters, Mrs. A. H. Larson, Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Lillian King and Mrs. Merle Montague, Salt Lake City; three brothers, Joseph Walker, Seattle, Wash.; George Walker, California, and Con Walker, Duluth, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Theresa Baker, Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 11 a.m. in the rose room of the Deseret Mortuary, 36 East seventh south street, with LeRoy D. Swingle officiating. Interment will be in Murray cemetery.
