Funeral Mass: 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at St. Mathias Church. Visitation: 3-6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home where a Rosary Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Joan of Arc Court No. 524. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery. MUSCATINE, Iowa—Mary Elizabeth Healey, 93, of Muscatine, died on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Trinity Hospital – Muscatine.

The Reverend Jason Crossen of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate. Casket bearers will be David Viner, James Healey, Mark Schmelzer, Jeffery Derksen, Mike Schmelzer, Mark Gassen, and Damon Viner. A time of food and fellowship will follow the committal service at Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish Hall. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Department for the Blind, 524 Fourth Street Des Moines, Iowa 50309, or to Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish.

Elizabeth was born on Jan. 27, 1920, in Wilton, the daughter of Henry A. and Margaret Fiehaly Romann. She married Lawrence Healey on Feb. 8, 1947, in Wilton. He preceded her in death in 1965.

She was a RN and worked at Bellevue and Muscatine General Hospitals. She was a member of Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish and was a lifetime member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Joan of Arc Court No. 524.

Liz had a great sense of humor and loved to play cards, and liked to gamble. She loved to go to Las Vegas. She loved visiting with her friends on the telephone while relaxing on her porch swing.

Survivors include one son, Patrick Healey and wife, Kathy, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, David Viner and wife, Tangie, of Muscatine, James Healey and wife, Amber, of Davenport, and Sara Healey of Muscatine; four great-grandchildren, Damon Viner, Mackenzie Viner, Ryan, and Hannah Healey, one great-great-granddaughter, Rowyn Elizabeth Viner; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Margaret Ann Law; and three sisters, Margaret Derksen, Gertrude Angerer, and Helen Angerer.
