Lorene Nelson, age 84, a resident of Harriman and formerly of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at The Bridge in Rockwood.

Lorene was born February 9, 1930 in Lafollette, TN. At an early age, she and her family moved to Oliver Springs, where she continued to live until her move to Harriman, in 2007.

Mrs. Nelson was a faithful Christian and a member of the New Fairview Baptist Church.

She retired from Roane Hosiery following 40 years of employment. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vander and Martha Parrott Murray, by her husband, Clifford Nelson, by a daughter, Sue Ward, by a grandson, Jimmy Bolden, by sisters; Lenore Collins, Lucille Campbell, Myrtle Woods and Barbara Marshall, and by brothers, Charles and Gene Murray.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by three daughters; Joanne Crowe and husband, Leroy of Mentone, AL, Janie Webster of Harriman and Sharon Massengill and husband, James of Harriman, by grandchildren; John Crowe and wife, Melissa, Daniel Crowe, Chris Massengill and wife Alisha, Trampas Ward and wife, Jill and Tabitha Breeden and husband, Roger, and by great-grandchildren; Kayley, Wyatt, Ian, Ethan and Emily Crowe,
Hannah and Carter Massengill, Tyler Evans, Mason and McKinzie Breeden, and Brantley Diggs.

She is also survived by brothers; Dale Murray and wife, Geneva of Harriman, and Bob Murray and wife, Loretta of Harriman, by a son-in-law, Terry Ward of Harriman, by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 14, 2014, between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 pm, at Sharp Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will follow at 2:30 pm, at the New Fairview Cemetery in Oliver Springs. Sharp Funeral Home is serving the Nelson family
