Frances Mary Breitschopf Hopper March 18, 1930 - July 29, 2010 Frances Mary Hopper, lovingly known as "Mimi" and "Grandma" to her family, joined the Lord Thursday, July 29, 2010 after a brief illness. Frances was born to Ludwig Frank Breitschopf and Mary Frances Schumann on March 18, 1930, at their home in Harwood Texas. Frances graduated from Harwood High School in 1947 and completed her education at Durham Business School in Austin Texas in 1949. Frances met Jesse Langston Hopper through mutual friends and they were married September 22, 1951 in San Marcos Texas. Frances and Jesse began their life together in Lake Jackson Texas and subsequently moved to Portland Texas where they raised their family. After the death of her husband Jesse, Frances moved to Austin and worked for Chase Bank for many years. Frances had a great sense of humor and she loved her grandchildren, quilting and her cabin on the Frio River in Leakey. She also doted on her dog Lucy, who was the apple of her eye. Frances was very involved with her church, Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joseph Ernest Breitschopf and her loving husband. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Ann Gottwald and her children: Mark Hopper and his wife Debbie; Patricia Gillean and her husband Dan; Fred Hopper and his wife Patti; and John Hopper and his wife Susan. Frances is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amber Ferrell, Shelly McMillan, Melissa Grice, Katie Grice, Natalie Rogers, Mitchell Hopper, Ben Hopper, Nicholas Hopper and Avery Hopper; and she is survived by four great grandchildren: Emily, Byron and Connor Ferrell; and Mark McMillan. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Commie Hisey, Nurse Celeste and all of the staff at the Gonzales Health Care System for their loving care. A Visitation will be held at 12:00 noon followed by Funeral services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31 at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 5211 McCarty Lane at William Cannon Drive, with Reverend Larry Coulter officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Knobbs Springs Cemetery in McDade Texas. Pallbearers are: Mitchell Hopper, Nicholas Hopper, Ben Hopper, Mark McMillan, Brent Ferrell and Tony Chamness. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ryan Rogers, Darrell Gottwald and Kenneth Gottwald. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Austin Public Library or to Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church.
