Wes Ford of Murphysboro died at age 78 on Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Marion.

He was born in Murphysboro on September 18, 1925, the son of Bowen and Ida Mae Lindsey Ford.

He married Mildred Sides in Murphysboro on August 10, 1968.

He is survived by his wife Mildred; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon Gurley of Alto Pass and Mrs. Debbie Leggans of Gorham; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Priscilla Sebesta of Dallas, Texas and Gloria Sholty of Peoria.

His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Ford was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of VFW Post 7190 and DAV Chapter 69.

He was a construction laborer and more recently an electronics and TV repairman. He was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro.
