JOHN WILLIAM ERNST, local business man, died at noon yesterday, aged 69 years. A resident of Hagerstown his entire life, Mr. Ernst resided at 1318 Oak Hill Avenue. He was the son of John G. and Margaret (Schmidt) Ernst.
For 30 years, he had been associated with several leading banking houses in Hagerstown. He had operated the Central Parking Company for more than 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a past president of Fountain Head Country Club. He was a graduate of Pierce School of Business Administration, Philadelphia.
Surviving are wife, Leah M. (Hollenberger) Ernst; daughters, Mrs. Robert F. Lesher, Hagerstown; Miss Hilda M. Ernst, Minneapolis; Mrs. Jennings P. Dawson, Hagerstown; Mrs. Lloyd R. Kuhn, Hagerstown; four grandchildren; brother, E. Gilbert Ernst, Hagerstown; sisters, Mrs. A.V. Blomberg, White Plains, NY; and Mrs. Albert M. Long, Hagerstown.
Services were held at the Coffman Funeral Home; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Miller and Dana Harr; sister, Marjorie E. Kuhn, Hagerstown; four grandchildren and two great-grandchilden.
A memorial service was held at the Minnich Funeral Home.
