JOE C. SUMMERS
Joe C. Summers, 87, of Moberly died Thursday at 1:50 a.m. in Moberly Regional Medical Center.
Born June 27, 1909, in Jacksonville, he was a son of the late Arthur and Bessie Conley Summers. Mr. Summers was a wrecker driver for Summers Auto Salvage and served as a lake ranger 10 years for the City of Moberly before retiring. He moved to Moberly in 1937 from Jacksonville. Mr. Summers was a member of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Beatrice, whom he married Jan. 23, 1933, in Huntsville; son and daughter-in-law, Joe A. and Donna J. Summers, Mabank, Tex.; one sister, Lucille Grinnip, Moberly; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Million-Taylor-Patton Funeral Home in Moberly. Rev. Bob Seaman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today. The family suggests memorials to Home Care of Mid-Missouri.
