He was the son of James V. and Constance A. "Connie" (Siebanoller) Terry. His mother survives in Elida. In May of 2005, he married Melissa Wood, who survives.
Also surviving are a brother, Steven; father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Rodney and Rhonda Wood; step-father-in-law, Jim Fortman; four brothers-in-law: Clint Fortman, Kurt Fortman, Andrew Wood and Adam Wood; three sisters-in-law: Heather Wood, Tracy Fortman and Corrine Wood; two nephews: Colton Spath and Adorian Aguirre; and two nieces: Tatyana Aguirre and Avery Morales.
To have known him is to have known selflessness, integrity, love and laughter. From onesies to full battle rattle, Chris yearned to experience life in the most spectacular of ways. He always went above and beyond for his family, friends, and fellow soldiers. He led by example and challenged all to do the same. His exuberance was infectious and his drive to always "pay it forward" inspiring. We are all better for having known this remarkable soldier and ever captivating man. He was an Eagle Scout, a 1996 graduate of Elilda High School, and a soldier who proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 2004 until March 2014 and became Air Assault Certified. He completed an OIF tour of duty from October 2007 – January 2009.
Services will be at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Richard Jueckstock officiating.
