Rhonda Rhyne Murphy, 50, of De Leon, Texas went home to her Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 26, 2014. She was born September 20, 1963 to Ray and Mary Lou (Brasuell) Rhyne in De Leon, Texas. Rhonda married Mike Murphy on September 24, 1983.
Rhonda was a member of De Leon First Baptist Church. She worked for De Leon ISD as the Elementary School Librarian, she loved her job immensely. She enjoyed each day she spent around her children and her co-workers. She was proud to be a De Leon Bearcat. She was an avid reader and enjoyed all different types of literature.
Rhonda was very motherly to everyone and never met a stranger. She had a special spirit about her that made people feel welcomed and loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and servant to God.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Mike Murphy; daughters, Leslie D' Ann Murphy, Kelly Marie Martin and son in law John Matthew Martin; mother, Mary Mimms; brother, Randy Lee Rhyne; granddaughter, Kole Kennedy Martin; niece, Jodie Lynn Guillory; nephews, John Murphy, Michael Murphy and Justin Murphy; and countless other family and loving friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery. Brother Daniel Harper officiated the services. Pallbearers were Phil Alexander, Mark Nowlin, Joe Burnett, Cloyde Teague, Brad McCann, Michael Murphy and John Murphy. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Stephens, Perry McNair and Dan Moss.
