Mrs. Porter was born on July 20, 1900 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Heulin and Frances Coulter Ely. Her husband, R. H. Porter, preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Fran Davis, Clearwater, Florida, and Mrs. Betty Gaia, Clarksville, Tennessee; a brother, John C. Ely, Hopkinsville, Kentucky; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Davis, Frank Goodlett, Edward Goodlett, Jeff Bibb, Chris Stanfill, Johnny Bennett, Gene Balthrop and Morris Shaw.
