SEAMAN KILLED BY HIT-RUN CAR
Seaman Albert Josiah Betts of Girard, Ohio, a mess cook stationed at the Naval Air Station at Richmond, Fla., died at 1 o'clock this morning as a result of injuries sustained when he was run down by a hit-and-run driver at Rockville on the road to Richmond, navy public relations announced.
The crash occurred at 8 o'clock last night, and Betts was rushed to the hospital at Richmond air station where he died five hours later, the navy said.
His uncle, Roy A. Betts, also of Girard, already has been notified of the sailor's death, the navy reported.
