Glen Ray "Red" Herod, Sr. was married to Ola Mae Pearl Bell Herod, and had nine children; Margaret Freidkin, Glenn Ray Herod, Jr., Jan O'Quinn, Dewey Herod, Deborah Childs, Laree Herod, Mary Martin, Martha Salazar, and Melinda Griffin. They had eleven grandchildren. Glen owned his own business as an automotive transmission mechanic in Lubbock for many years. He died of lung cancer in 1987. He was cremated but his remains were then interred at in the family plot at Resthaven Cemetary in Southland, TX, with a headstone furnished by the Veteran's Administration honoring his military service in the army during his early 20's.
