Believed That Her Death was Superinduced by Ptomaine Poisoning
Ida May Powell, wife of Lemuel D. Powell, died yesterday at the home in Lodi shortly after 12 o'clock. The cause of death was paralysis, belived to have been superinduced by ptomaine poisoning.
About a week ago, Mrs. Powell ate of canned devl ham. Shortly afterward she was taken violently ill and two days later suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she slowly sank.
Mrs. Powell was a native of California, aged 30 years, 11 months and 20 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Beardsley, and had resided in Lodi for the past twenty years. She was a devoted wife and mother and an earnest Christian worker. A husband and little son besides her parents, brothers and sisters are left to mourn her untimely death.
The funeral, under the direction of Undertaker Hale, will be held Friday afternoon from the home at 2 o'clock, Rev. John Young officiating.
