Rhodessa Blankenship Riddle, 82 of Narrows, passed away Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg.

A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on October 18th, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Burman Hale and Nellie Gray Ratliff Blankenship. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 35 years, Andrew Jennings (Jim) Riddle; a son, Larry David Riddle; a sister, Mae Hazelwood; five brothers, Luther Blankenship, Emitte Blankenship, Hayden Blankenship, Avery Blankenship, Amos Blankenship.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Gary J. Riddle and wife Wanda of Pilot, Virginia; a daughter, Terri Bradley of Hillsville; a daughter-in-law, Dreama Riddle Sloan and Chris; six grandchildren, Lori Bowman, John Riddle, Leanne Underwood, Joshua Bradley, Brittany Chaffin, and Bryce Riddle; eight great-great grandchildren, Robert Riddle, Katie Riddle, Ethan Riddle, Taylor Underwood, Everett Bowman, Colton Bowman, Zach Riddle, and Jonathan Underwood; two brothers, Donald Blankenship and wife Elsie of Pamplin, Virginia, Roger Blankenship of Winfield, West Virginia; her beloved canine companion, Bo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, including a special neice, Lois Clark and husband Charles of Narrows.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28th, 2014 at 11 AM at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows with Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church Thursday from 6 to 8 PM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to either Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church; 809 College Street; Narrows, Virginia; or to the Giles Lifesaving and Rescue Squad; P.O.
