Sylvia Mae Parker, 89 of Shell Knob, went home to be with the LORD on Sun., March 23. She passed away at the Cassville hospital surrounded by family. Born in Hatfield, MO in 1924, Sylvia worked alongside her husband on their Iowa farm and served many years as a nursing home caregiver. She lived life to the fullest and provided a lifetime of unforgettable moments for all who knew her. She was fearless and earned the respect of all who encountered her. Sylvia, a staple at the Country Market for twelve years, known to many as Grandma or the doughnut lady, is notorious for her quick wit, manicured nails and spiked hair.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of sixty-eight years, Corwin Parker, daughter and son-in-law: Gordia and Steve Parrott, all residents of Shell Knob, her four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her only son, Norman Parker. Sylvia will be remembered by family and friends for her fierce, loyal love and her unwavering faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

A balloon launch in celebration of Sylvia's life was held on Sat., April 19 in the Country Market parking lot: 24988 State Highway 39, Shell Knob.
