Ethel was born March 11, 1922, to Johnnie B. and Johnnie Bob Latham in Saltillo, Miss.
She was a homemaker and she enjoyed gardening, quilting, chewing tobacco and cooking. She loved the outdoors.
Ethel leaves many love ones behind including her sister, Aaron Freeman of Carbondale; daughter, Doris Freeman of Murphysboro; stepson, Ernest Bryant of Carbondale; grandchildren, Timberly Freeman, Sarah (Kenneth) Goodwin, April (Kenisha) Ray, Robin Freeman, Christopher (Tammi) Freeman, Jacklyn Currie, Leslie Neal, Veronica (Lonnie) Butler, Amy Freeman, Andre Freeman, Lana LeSure, Anthony LeSure, Kimberly Freeman, Tracy Freeman, Tumili Dunklin, Yolanda Freeman, Aaron Freeman and Shawn Freeman; 48 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff Freeman; two sisters, Emma Lou Richardson and Martha Lee; two sons, Clifford Lee Freeman and Ernest Freeman and one grandson, Edward Freeman.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, in First Presbyterian USA, at 51 Crescent Drive in Murphysboro with the Rev. James E. Jackson, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
Jackson Funeral Home of Carbondale is in charge of arrangements.
