Victor D. Stanley, age 90, of Winter Haven, FL died on October 11, 2007 from heart failure. He was born in Wirt County, WV on August 10, 1917 to William Vanallen Stanley and Fannie Taylor Stanley. Mr. Stanley graduated from Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, WV in 1935. Mr. Stanley served in the Army Air Force from February 1941 to November 1945 and served as an Airplane Engine Mechanic. Recognitions he received included Air Defense Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, AAF Air Crew Member (Wings), and Carbine Expert. He was honorably discharged on November 20, 1945. In 1975, Mr. Stanley retired from DuPont as a production foreman in Ohio and moved to Homestead, FL. He relocated to Winter Haven, FL in 1982. Throughout his life, Mr. Stanley was a New Testament Christian and served as an exceptional role model of Christian values and principles for others. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Central Church of Christ, Winter Haven, FL from 1982 until the time of departure.

Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mildred V. Erlewine Stanley. She passed away on December 1, 2003.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale, FL with funeral service to follow at 10 a.m.
