Blessed with 94 years of a life well-lived, Charles passed away peacefully on September 17 surrounded by his loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in New Ulm, MN, the eighth of nine children of Katherine Epper and Anton Dorn, and spent most of his life in Mankato, MN, where he graduated from Loyola High School, Charles enlisted in WWII and served in the Army's 45th Division in Europe and Northern Africa. Upon his return, he married Elizabeth Josephine Simonett and together they had 12 children: six boys and six girls. Charles served as a firefighter in Mankato and retired as the Assistant Fire Chief in 1978.

He is survived by his five sons and wives, six daughters and husbands, 34 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren [survivors names omitted].

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, "Betty Jo" (Simonett) Dorn and his eldest son Daniel.
