He was a member of the United Baptist Church of Easton, where hs served as usher and was on the board of trustees. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Fort Fairfield. He is survived by his wife, Vena (Hersey) Ames of Easton, a son, Dale of Pennsville, NJ., 3 daughters, Joan McDougal of Mars Hill, Carolyn Dyer of Southwest Harbor and Jean Ann Ames of Easton, a brother, Adonis of Easton, 2 sisters, Opal Ladner of Easton and Connie Jones of San Antonio, TX., 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Burial Estes Park cemetery.
