BRUNSON, Robert M. Jr. President and CEO of Brunson's Funeral Chapel and Senior Pastor of Unlimited Power Transformation Church of Richmond, entered eternal rest March 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, the late founder and CEO, Robert M. Brunson Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Elicia V. Brunson; four children, Robert III, Brandon, Benjamin and Brittney Brunson; a devoted mother, Dorene T. Brunson; grandmother, Mother Mary E. Lindsay; one sister, Talitha Brunson Bell; three brothers, Terrence Brunson Sr. (Mildred), Michael Coleman Sr. (Pia) and Anthony Coleman (Sherry); mother-in-law, Josephine V. Hill; stepmother, Yvonne Brunson; two uncles, three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; of them a devoted cousin, Lillie Mae Wallace; and godparents, Bishop and Lady James F. Harris. Public viewing will begin 3 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Brunson's Funeral Chapel, 1st and Federal Streets. Family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2014, 6 to 8 p.m. at Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 913 N. 1st St. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014, 11 a.m., at Greater Works Evangelistic Ministries, 3904 Old Hopkins Rd. Bishop James F. Harris officiating. Bishop Duane Bell, senior pastor, eulogist. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. THE CHRONICLES OF A GOOD MAN

Robert M.("Rob") Brunson, Jr. who transitioned from this life on March 25, 2014 was born June 14, 1966 to the late Robert M. Brunson Sr. and Dorene T. Lindsay Brunson of Richmond, Virginia. Rob was educated in the Richmond Public Schools, graduating from the JHW-George Wythe High School, in 1984. At 15 years of age, Rob began working with his father's funeral home. "Crawley& Brunson Funeral Home", where he learned everything from cleaning cars, maintaining building and grounds, administrtion and any and all things necessary to run a funeral establishment.
The experience he obtained pushed him to purse this profession. After graduation, he then immediately matriculate to the John Tyler Community College whee he graduated with a degree in Applied Science for Funeral Services in 1990 and became one of the youngest licensed funeral directors and embalmers in the State of Virginia at the age of 23. Rob worked for other firms for several years, but after rising to the level of General Manager of Richmond's oldest African American business and l home with more than six years of service, he and his father co-founded " Brunson's Funeral Chapel" a few blocks away in Richmond's historic Jackson Ward.

Having been taught to be a servant, a southern gentleman, and a mortician, compassionate and community minded. Rob continued Bob's legacy with humility, grace and care. Following closely in his Dad's footsteps has led many in Richmond to say, "Rob, you're like your Dad, not to mention you look like him. Rob's favorite quote came from Proverbs 3:5 and 6 in the Holy Bible, which reads: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths." Trusting in the Lord, Rob continued the legacy of Bob "all the days of his life." He has served on many community boards and associations, among them, Past President of Richmond Funeral Directors Association, Virginia Mortician Association and Past National Delegate to the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Assocition.

Rob has been very active in the Christian community and churches as well. Being born and raised in the Gorious Churches of God in Christ, his servitude began as a young child. Later on in yers he served as Chairman of the Deacon and Trustee Boards, President of the Elders Board. He was ordained as a minister and then elder where he served for years. As an active member and one of the beginning members of Greater Works Evangelistic Ministries, he was ordained as Assistant Pastor and then consecreated to the pastorate. In 2007, Rob being led of the Lord, founded the "Unlimitede Power Transformation Church" located in an eastern Richmond Community, where he served as Senior Pastor until death.

June l990, Rob married Elicia Vaughter Brunson of New Kent County, and in this union they are blessed with four children: Robert III("Trae"}, Brandon, Benjamin and Brittney, all of which assist at Brunson's Funeral Chapel.

Haris; spiritual parents, Bishop Duane and Pastor Patricia Bell; spiritual mentor, Bishop Darryl Husband; and other relatives and friends, among them, Elder Benjamin Lambert, Jr. ("BJ'), Pastor Marvin Jefferson, Pastor Cornell Watson, Pastor Ronald Thornhill, Pastor Rodney Brown, and pastors of the AMEN Fellowship.
