Howard Dwayne "Pood" Yates, 75, Bethany, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Crestview Nursing Home, Bethany, MO.
He was born October 21, 1938, in New Hampton, MO, the son of Charlie and Edith (Polley) Yates.
On June 14, 1969, Dwayne was united in marriage to Margaret Lea Sherwood. She survives of the home.
Dwayne farmed, worked road construction, laid fiber optic cable, and owned the Long Creek Bar and Grill. He had a passion for his family, friends, dancing, playing cards, and his '57 Chevy. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and was a deacon of the New Hampton Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 Sisters, Lois Yates, Inez Hillman, and Shirley Wilson; Brother, Albert Dean Yates.
Survivors in addition to his Wife; daughter, Angie (Brent) Nible; Sons, Heath and Allen Yates, Steven (Annette) Findley, and Michael Findley; Brother, Charles Yates; 6 grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Nible, Michael Rucker, Stacy and Amber Findley and Dakota Yates.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday March 27, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO.
