Ethel Marie McCoy, 96, of Danville passed away at 6:30 p.m. Sunday (March 23, 2014) at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville.
She was born Dec. 4, 1917 in Homer, a daughter of William Irvin and Bessie Peters Wakefield. She married Ezra McCoy on Jan. 22, 1936 in Oakwood. He passed away on Dec. 9, 1997. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Jim and Ralph Wakefield.
She is survived by two brothers, Dale and Bob Wakefield; two sisters, LaVerne Cook and Arlene Wakefield and several nieces and nephews.
She was a licensed beauty operator for several years. She owned and operated gas stations in the Danville area with her husband.
