RETHA MAE MCGEE, 78, of Salisbury, MO, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at her home. Retha was born February 26, 1935 in Bynumville, MO the daughter of Guy and Meryl (Billiter) Penrod. She married Irvin McGee on May 30, 1953 in Bynumville, and he survives of the home.
Retha was a beautician for several area beauty shops for many years. She was a member of the Sweet Springs Baptist Church. Retha was an avid quilter and pie baker and gardener.
Retha is survived by her husband of the home, three daughters Marlene (Steve) Callahan of Huntsville, MO, Carrie (Todd) Roling of Salisbury, Kayla (John) Jennings of Winter Haven, FL, daughter-in-law Beth McGee of Huntsville, MO, three brothers Charles Penrod of KC, MO, Eldan Penrod of Hunstville, MO, Kay Penrod of Salisbury, MO, two sisters Ruth Huss of Salisbury, MO, Beverly Foster of Cairo, MO, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Allen Eugene McGee on May 4, 2007, sister Guyneth Haffecke, and brother Donovan Penrod.
Visitation is 9:30- 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Sweet Springs Baptist Church with services at 11:00 a.m. at the church, burial in Sweets Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sweets Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
