Ernest G. Bell, 92, of Route 52 died at 9:55 a.m. Thursday in his residence. He was a retired farmer. He was born Oct. 28, 1895, in Parke County to James C. Bell and Mary E. Cofer Bell. His first wife, Anna Thomas Bell, died in 1964.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Mitchell Bell; one son, Chester of Brazil, three daughters, Nila E. Ellington of Plainfield, and Alto Mae Smith and Vera Adams of Terre Haute; one stepdaughter, Evelyn Sexton of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren. He was a member of Church of Christ and Farm Bureau Co-op. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home, with brother Carson Spivey officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
