Rebecca Ann Duff Kirkpatrick 71, was born at Methodist Hospital on January 14, 1943 to Mary Virginia (Boswell) Duff and Loren Victor Duff who were song evangelists for the Nazarene Church. She spent her younger years going with her parents throughout the United States and soon was singing herself. At six years of age she was diagnosed with Saint Vitus dance, a muscular nerve disorder that effected the entire right side of her body. She was healed of this ailment only to develop Rheumatic Fever five years later at age 11. After months in bed the doctor finally allowed her to return to school and church. During her teenage years she sang with two girls from church and called themselves the Joy Belles. In adulthood she was married several times and mothered two children, Randall Gibson and Dana Elizabeth Alexander. With the responsibility of motherhood, she started her work in the restaurant industry, working at some of Indianapolis' finer restaurants: Ayres Tea Room, The King Cole, The Marriot Hotel and Canterbury Hotel to name a few. At one of her jobs she met and fell in love with William Kirkpatrick, a native of Rushville, Indiana. This was truly the fulfillment of all her dreams. She is leaving behind Rand, Dana, three grandsons, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
