David grew up on the family farm near Oakland, NE. As a young man, he helped his older brothers on their farm. By 1917, David had started his own produce business in Oakland. He continued operating a produce station in Oakland, NE into the 1950's.
David served in the U.S. Army during World War I. After he returned to the Oakland, NE area, he married Eva G. Frank in Omaha, NE in September of 1920.
They lived in Oakland and David ran his produce station, eventually with the help of his son David F.
David & Eva had two children, David Frederick Servine and Jean E. (Mrs. Charles) Sanders.
