Benjamin was the son of Joseph Chandler and Elizabeth Delano Chandler. According to SAR paper work his birth year may have been 1721 or 1722. According to Mayflower births and deaths Benjamin was born May 16, 1727. So I can not determine birth. During his boyhood years he moved with his family from Mass. to Cornwall, CT. where he grew up and married Elizabeth Jeffery. They had 13 children while living in Cornwall and then moved on to VT. After the Amer. Rev. broke out two of Benjamin's sons joined the colonist to fight the British. Benjamin was visiting his sons on the day that the Battle of Bennington took place and when the battle commenced Benjamin took up a fire arm and began firing even though he was not enlisted in the army. He was the only person killed that day. It is unknown if Benjamin was buried in Bennington or elsewhere.

Many of Benjamin's children have been found and put on FAG. Joseph is FAG #22861033, Sarah FAG #90277962, John FAG #9921464, Huldah Brewster FAG #35381069, Jesse FAG #620207221, Prudence Bliss FAG #9953324, Anna Beach FAG #93305564, and Benjamin FAG #31097995.
