Clyde Wilber Dowling

Clyde Wilber Dowling, 89, of Napa, died Saturday at Queen of the Valley Hospital.

He was born Sep;t. 20, 1890, in Iowa to Abner and Aggie Dowling and educated in Nebraska. He married the former Etta Mae Collier there April 22, 1914. He worked on a farm and later owned and operated his own stock farm in Nebraska. They came to Napa in 1955, where Mr. Dowling worked for Pat Jinx Construction. He retired in 1968.

Survivors include his son, Warren R. of Napa; three brothers, Arthur A. and Otto E., both of Nebraska, and Jay Orin of Iowa; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing Mr. Dowling were his parents; his wife; three brothers, Clarence Lee, Earl R. and Lester H.; and a sister, Elsie H. Grotleuschen.

Friends are invited to attend his funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel with Mr. Robert Gutasson and Mr. Brook Daly officiating. Interment will follow at Tulocay Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David, Daniel, Dale, Gerald, Donald and Howard Dowling.
