Sharon L. May, 70, of Tavares, FL, formerly of Bronson passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares.
A funeral will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher – Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor John Fields of the First Baptist Church of Bronson officiating. Interment will follow at Matteson Cemetery in Matteson Twp. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home.
Sharon was born May 25, 1943 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Robert and Lillian (Sampson) Metzner. She is a 1961 graduate of Wayne Memorial High School in Wayne, MI. Sharon married Richard L. May on April 24, 1976 in Bronson, he preceded her in death July 23, 1993.
Mrs. May was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bronson and a resident of Bronson for 35 years until she moved to Florida. Sharon worked at Bill's Steak House for many years until she opened her day care in Bronson, which she owned and operated for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed going to the movies, playing scrabble and traveling with her family and friends. She was known for her warm personality and always wearing a smile.
Sharon is survived by her sons Richard (Coleen) Connolly of Tavares, FL, Mark Alan May of Bronson, her daughter Barbara Ann Elder (Robert) Curry of Angola, IN, her brother Robert Metzner of Darien, WI, her sisters Gloria Draper of Bronson, Sandra Carner of Odessa, TX, Barbara Cox of Murphy, NC, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Bronson.
