Reverend Lewis Alexander Gentry, Jr., born August 12, 1928 went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 22, 2014. Lewis was born in Houston, TX to the late Lewis and Fannie Gentry. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Pearce Gentry; daughter, Susan Gentry Kirk and late husband Ron; son, William Lewis “Bill” Gentry; daughter Lisa S. Perry and husband Ronnie; son, Kenneth Strickland and wife Kim; daughter, Jennifer Allen and husband Kenny; daughter, Monica Miller and husband Jeff; a brother, Frank Gentry and his wife Gloria; a sister Patsy Rohn and her husband Wallace; sister in law, Carietta Gentry, wife of his deceased brother, Aubrey Gentry. “GrandPa G” was very proud of his 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, the upcoming #11 and all of his numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation to celebrate Lewis’ life will be held Monday, March 24th from 6-8 pm at Williford Funeral Home in Fuquay- Varina. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 25th at 1pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church (3217 Piney Grove Wilbon Road in Fuquay- Varina). Internment will follow at Rock Spring Baptist Church Cemetery (34 Rock Spring Church Road in Louisburg). In lieu of flowers, Lewis would be honored for you to make a donation to the Piney Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
