OBITUARY:

John Lumbard

It is with profound sadness we announce that John Thomas (Jack) Lumbard beloved husband of Joyce and dear father of Todd (Kerry), Wade (Kelly) and Becky (Mark) died suddenly on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the age of 76 years.

Jack was born in Carnduff, Saskatchewan and moved as a young boy, with his family, to the Zion district, north of Brandon, where they started a family farm. Jack came to work at Brockie Donovan in 1962 under the guidance and mentorship of Jack and Mary Donovan.

He became the owner of Brockie Donovan Funeral Home in 1975 and the business has remained in his family ever since.

Jack was predeceased by his parents Bill and Janet Lumbard, brother Bob Lumbard, and brother-in-law Ray Relf. He is survived by his grandchildren, Drew, Brock, Luke, Holden, Jack and Ava; who loved their Papa very much.

He is also survived by sister Betty Anne Relf, brothers, Reid (Linda), Garry (Shirley), sister-in-law Rosalie Lumbard and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was an honourable, kind man who loved his family and was loved in return.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon, MB, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with The Rt. Rev. Jim Njegovan officiating.

A private family interment will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully accepted. Donations may be made in memory of Jack to Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon MB R7A 2B3 or St. Matthewís Cathedral Building Fund, 403-13th Street, Brandon MB R7A 4P9. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
