Virginia was born in Owensboro, KY to Garland and Ruth Schwartz Driskell. An only child, her family moved to Cincinnati when she was just 6 weeks old. She grew up in Norwood, OH attending Norwood HS and later the Christ Hospital School of Nursing. She remained a faithful alumni her entire life. In 1943 she married Charles H. Foertmeyer, M.D. in Carlisle Barracks, PA. After WWII, they started their family, having 3 sons and a daughter. For nearly 50 years, they lived in Wyoming, OH. Ginny, as she preferred to be called, was always busy with PTA, scouting, and various social clubs. She will always be remembered as a wonderful, caring mother and a good, faithful friend.
